Holiday Greetings from RRBC!

Posted

Posted on December 2, 2013:

I’m excited to report that at least 14 people let me know that they still read my blog!  This weekend my Mom and her boyfriend, Jeff, were visiting for Thanksgiving and told me that they, too, enjoy reading the blog.  For that, I am grateful and will continue to write to YOU, dear readers!

Our fundraising efforts for the Sutter Breast Care Center were a huge success this year.  We donated just over $100,000, up nearly $25K from last year!  That significant increase can be attributed to the additional “Framboise For A Cure” we sold at the pub, Tom Peters at Monk’s Café in Philly and his extraordinary generosity, Toronado SF and SD, Willie Birds, Encinitas Ale House, and the kindness of our many friends and customers.  The beautiful Ribbecke Guitar was, once again, the HOT ticket for the raffles.  Thank you for making this year’s “Big Check” the most amazing ever!

We are finally releasing the next batch of Beatification on draft and in 375ml bottles on Saturday, December 14th, 2013!  This is a brewpub ONLY release.  Beatification is our spontaneously fermented beer, meaning that we add no yeast and allow the beer to naturally collect any wild yeast and bacteria in the air and barrels.  We call this style of beer “Sonambic”- a nod to the traditionally spontaneous beers brewed in the Lambic region of Belgium.  The pub will open at 9AM on the 14th for bottle sales as well as draft beer at the bar.  Customers wishing to purchase just bottles (and be on their way) will have a separate “queue”, while anyone wanting to enjoy a morning beer will be seated on a first come, first served basis.  The kitchen will open at 11AM as usual.  Bottles are $18/each, limit one case per person (subject to change).  Vinnie and I will also be there to wish you all Happy Holidays!

Holiday schedule and beyond:

  • Our annual employee Christmas Party is Monday, December 9th. We will be closing the pub at around 6pm for our super fun party!
  • Christmas Day: Kitchen will be closed. However, Drew and Caitlin are opening the bar at 6pm for anyone wishing to get the heck out of the house!
  • New Year’s Eve: Our last regularly scheduled live music show with Choppin’ Broccoli, 9pm, FREE, 21 and up!
  • January 6-10, 2014: The pub will be CLOSED for much needed renovations and remodeling behind the bar and in the kitchen. Unfortunately, there is no way to stay open during construction, so we have to close for a few days. This will help get us ready (physically and mentally) for the Pliny the Younger Release in February AND our 10 Year Anniversary in April!
  • Pliny the Younger’s 10th Annual Return to our pub in Santa Rosa will occur on Friday, February 7th, 2014! It will be available everyday (until we run out each day) for 14 days. Distribution begins the following week for local and no-so-local bar and restaurant accounts.   Younger has not even been brewed yet so allocations will not be set until the final yield is determined in LATE JANUARY. If you are planning a trip to Santa Rosa for the release, I will have a Younger page up on the website SOON with more information regarding hotels, what to expect, etc. So far one local hotel has expressed interest in extending a special rate to our Younger fans! Hopefully more will follow their lead. Horizon Airlines flies directly into Santa Rosa from Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and San Diego if you want to book your air travel now! Stay tuned…

Brena and Aura, Pliny’s little elves, are folding, boxing, taping, and shipping away your online Gift Shop orders everyday this month. Check out our Gift Shop for fun gift ideas for the beer lover in your life. Or yourself, or course J

Happy Holidays to you all from our family to yours! We wish you a safe and happy Holiday Season!

Cheers-

Natalie
