BUSSER

SUMMARY

Russian River Brewing Company is hiring a full time busser to join the team! This position ensures the smooth flow of customer turnover by clearing and cleaning tables, stocking sanitizer water, ice and towels, and completes side work as requested. This position will also fill in as Host when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Clears and cleans tables and wipes seats as customers leave
  • Pre-busses: clears empty plates and glasses as needed
  • Cleans up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and removes empty bottles and trash
  • Changes sanitizer water when cold and/or dirty
  • Ensures clean towels are available for use at all times
  • Places “reserve” signs on tables as customers leave and tells host what tables are or will be available
  • Ensures water stations are full and stocked with cups
  • Keeps ice stocked in the server station
  • Completes side work before pub opens or when requested
  • Keeps floor clear of debris and sweeps when necessary
  • Brings bus tubs and blue glass racks to their proper places when full
  • Acts friendly and sincere with all customers
  • Greets customers when they enter the pub and seats them at tables
  • Provides customers with menus
  • Maintains a list of available tables and ensures tables are not empty for more than five minutes
  • Maintains a waiting list when necessary
  • Accurately quotes a waiting time to all customers
  • Speaks with customers to ensure satisfaction with food and service, or to respond to complains
  • Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries or transfers calls as appropriate while effectively dealing with customers as they arrive
  • Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that details are handled properly and customers’ concerns and requests are addressed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Bilingual skills a plus

  • Must be available to work days/nights, including weekends and holidays

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Much of the work consists of conveying information verbally. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, twist and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds. Use of arms above or below the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BREWERY REPRESENTATIVE

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for representing RRBC in San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange Counties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Establish and maintain a close working relationship with RRBC’s valued wholesale partners and accounts
  2. Respond in a timely manner to customer feedback/complaints with compassion and professional courtesy
  3. Prepare and make presentations to sales teams
  4. Audit on/off premise accounts for Quality Assurance
  5. Maximize the customer experience from distributor to consumer
  6. Embrace and communicate RRBC’s company culture
  7. Follow up on complaints and ongoing issues with bootlegging
  8. Lay the foundation to streamline future strategic allocations
  9. Assist distributor sales team in day-to-day management of RRBC’s message and quality standards
  10. Represent RRBC at festivals and events

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Craft beer/wine/spirit/food/life enthusiast; Cicerone certification a plus
  • Experience with supplier and distributor sales
  • Principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
  • Business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership and supervisory techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits
  • Business math and its application to distribution techniques
  • Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods
  • Effectively managing one’s own time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Listen and understand information and ideas as presented

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares a variety of food utilizing skill and creativity
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; ensures all sanitation procedures are being followed
  • Cleans food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Reads food orders or receives instructions as to food required by customer; prepares food accordingly
  • Turns or stir foods to ensure even cooking and seasons and cooks food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
  • Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Washes, cuts, and prepares foods designated for cooking, and measures ingredients required for food
  • Regulates temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Ensures that level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently
  • Observes and tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils
  • Ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Utilizes tools and machines, measures, cuts, and otherwise works on materials with precision
  • Ensures proper storage labeling and dating of all food 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum two years of related experience in a restaurant environment or equivalent
  • Current Serve Safe or California Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays (required)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn basic sanitation and workplace safety regulations, food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures

  • Must be efficient, dependable, quick, and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to withstand constant pressure to prepare meals quickly, while ensuring quality is maintained, and safety and sanitation guidelines are observed at all times
  • Must be at least 21 years old and personal cleanliness is essential
