JOB POSTING: SERVER/Front of House

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Russian River Brewing Company is seeking a full time Server/FOH employee to join our team. While this position will primarily be serving, at times this person will be scheduled to bus and/or work in our gift shop. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes variety in a fast paced environment.

  • Taking food and beverage orders accurately and courteously
  • Submitting tickets to kitchen/bar in a timely manner; coordinates with kitchen staff to clarify special requests
  • Pre-sets tables with necessary table ware
  • Delivers food and beverages to customers as able
  • Keeps server station stocked and clean
  • Completes side work before pub opens or at manager's request
  • Assists customers with merchandise, growlers and bottled beer to go
  • Maintains knowledge of and abides by state liquor regulations; verifies legal drinking age of customers
  • Reviews food orders for accuracy and presentation prior to serving; coordinates with kitchen staff to rectify any deficiencies
  • Refills customers' beverages as requested; monitors customers during meals to provide for all needs
  • Delivers checks to customers upon meal completion
  • Maintains knowledge of beer selections, menu items, preparation method, ingredients, and prices
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation at all times
  • Resolves customer problems/complaints; utilizes own best judgment in resolving issues or refers to management as needed
  • Works bussing or gift shop shifts as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • A minimum of one year food server experience in a high volume restaurant; brewery and/or pub experience a plus. Two or more years experience highly desired.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Bilingual skills a plus

JOB POSTING: Dishwasher

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
  • Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
  • Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
  • Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
  • Set up or break down dishwashing area.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats.
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweep/mop floors.
  • Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
  • Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
  • Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
  • Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Any other tasks as requested by a manager on duty

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Current Serve Safe or California Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Bilingual skills a plus

  • Must be efficient, quick, and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to withstand constant pressure to prepare dishwashing quickly, while ensuring quality is maintained, and safety and sanitation guidelines are observed at all times
  • Personal cleanliness is essential

THE LEGAL STUFF

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have some qualifying work experience. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand and walk quickly for long periods of time. The position requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s) for dishwashing; use of hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble. Talk and hear; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 75 pounds. Creativity and a keen sense of taste and smell are needed. Use of arms above the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares a variety of food utilizing skill and creativity
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; ensures all sanitation procedures are being followed
  • Cleans food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Reads food orders or receives instructions as to food required by customer; prepares food accordingly
  • Turns or stir foods to ensure even cooking and seasons and cooks food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
  • Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Washes, cuts, and prepares foods designated for cooking, and measures ingredients required for food
  • Regulates temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Ensures that level of quality, portion control, and plate presentation is adhered to consistently
  • Observes and tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils
  • Ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Utilizes tools and machines, measures, cuts, and otherwise works on materials with precision
  • Ensures proper storage labeling and dating of all food
